Free Etsy Tools: Research, Price and Prepare a Listing in One Place

Use MOOSIZE's free research, fee, profit, title and tag tools in a practical US Etsy listing workflow, with clear checks and limitations at each step.

If you keep moving between a product idea, a spreadsheet and an unfinished listing, start with one decision: what do you need to check next? The MOOSIZE free Etsy tools hub brings research, fee and profit calculators, title ideas and tag ideas together. You do not need to use every tool for every listing.

The calculators and generators do not require sign-up. Live research requires email verification and includes one free assessment. These tools support decisions; they do not guarantee Etsy placement, sales or profit.

1. Check the product idea before paying for a design

Use live Etsy research for a specific product and buyer, such as a personalised travel mug for a family gift. Select the US market when researching a US listing. Keep the product format consistent when comparing results.

Read the sample size, pricing evidence and limitations. A count of competing listings is not a count of sales. A sampled price is not proof that buyers will pay that amount for your product.

Your output from this step should be a testable idea and an unanswered question, not a claim that you have found a guaranteed winner. The product research guide explains the wider process.

2. Separate fees from profit

Open the Etsy fee calculator and select United States. Enter your order details and check the editable rates against your own payment account. This tells you an estimated amount left after marketplace fees, not after all your costs.

Next use the US Etsy profit calculator. Include production or fulfilment, actual shipping, advertising and other attributable costs. Check all defaults before relying on the result.

For an illustrative example only, suppose revenue is $30, total marketplace fees are $4 and production plus shipping cost $15. That leaves $11 before other costs. Adding $5 of advertising cost reduces the estimate to $6. The $4 is an assumed total, not a quotation of Etsy's fee rates.

Run two scenarios: your expected costs, then a more expensive shipping or advertising scenario. If the second leaves too little contribution, revise your price or costs before spending on promotion.

Selling from the UK instead? Use the UK Etsy profit calculator, not US assumptions.

3. Make the title describe the actual item

Use the Etsy title generator to turn product details into title ideas. Supply accurate material, colour and distinguishing features. Review the output against what you will actually deliver.

For a travel mug, do not include a material, capacity or personalisation option that the supplier does not offer. Clear wording is useful; invented features create a misleading listing. A generated title is not a tested ranking recommendation.

4. Review tags for relevance

Use the Etsy tag generator to explore product, buyer, occasion and style wording. Keep the suggestions that truthfully describe the item and remove irrelevant ones.

The generated ideas are not measured keyword search volumes. They are a starting point for preparing your listing, not evidence that a phrase will attract traffic. Avoid treating more keywords as a substitute for a clear product offer.

5. Finish the listing checks outside the tools

Before publishing, confirm:

  • The photographs and description match the item and its available options.
  • The price still works with your real supplier and delivery costs.
  • Production and delivery expectations are realistic.
  • Personalisation instructions are understandable.
  • You can identify what changed when you later review listing performance.

MOOSIZE does not complete these checks for you or automatically publish the listing through these free tools. Use the outputs as working material, then review your final listing yourself.

Choose one next step

Already know the product? Start with the profit estimate. Unsure what to test? Start with research. Stuck on wording? Open the title and tag generators.

Open all free Etsy tools, choose the task that is blocking you and complete that check before moving to the next.
